Overview

Position is responsible for providing instruction and coordination within both the Associate of Applied Science degrees in Human Resources and Office Management on the Beloit-Janesville Campus. The instructor is responsible for teaching courses in flexible modalities that enable students to achieve program learning outcomes and prepare for a career in human resource or office management. The instructor nurtures a supportive academic environment that places learning at the center of a student’s educational experience.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide high quality instruction in assigned classes.
  2. Assess student learning on an ongoing basis to evaluate the effectiveness of instruction and curriculum.
  3. Foster an inclusive classroom environment that respects diversity and supports multicultural perspectives.
  4. Prepare and update course syllabi in accordance with BTC guidelines for all courses taught.
  5. Engage in continuous professional development to deliver instruction effectively in flexible, supportive learning environments using the college’s educational technologies.
  6. Stay current in human resources and management subject areas to ensure course content and program curriculum align with workforce needs.
  7. Develop, revise, and update program curriculum to maintain relevance and quality.
  8. Collaborate with Business Department program leads to coordinate course offerings across multiple degree programs.
  9. Identify students in need of support, make referrals to Student Services and the Student Success Center, and collaborate with staff to promote student success.
  10. Partner with library staff to support student access to reference materials and to contribute to collection development.
  11. Participate in student recruitment efforts and assist with graduate job placement activities.
  12. Collaborate with high school partners on dual credit courses and recruit students into Human Resources and Office Management programs.
  13. Participate actively in program advisory committee meetings.
  14. Maintain weekly office hours and fulfill other responsibilities to meet student, department, division, and college needs.
  15. Maintain accurate student records and submit reports as required by administrative offices.
  16. Serve on college-wide committees as appropriate.
  17. Meet Wisconsin Technical College System Faculty Quality Assurance requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or closely related field; Master's Degree preferred.
  2. Two (2) years or 4,000 hours of relevant work experience in a Human Resource or Office Management occupation.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Previous post-secondary teaching experience, including both classroom and on-line instructional settings.
  2. Current SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) or Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) certification.
