The Marketing Instructor teaches credit courses within the Digital Marketing Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree program. This position teaches and collaborates with employers to develop, maintain, and upgrade curriculum in the areas of digital marketing, advertising, branding, e-commerce, marketing research and analytics, social media and marketing plan development. Instruction is provided from the Central Campus in Janesville utilizing flexible delivery formats that meet the educational needs of students and regional businesses. The position reports to the Administrative Chair of the Business Department.

1. Provide instruction for digital marketing program courses as assigned. Develop and update or revise course curriculum as needed to maintain program currency and relevance.
2. Engage in ongoing student learning assessment in the digital marketing curriculum to determine effectiveness of instruction and curriculum. Use data to measure program outcomes related to student persistence, retention, completion rate, course success, and to design improvement strategies based on the evidence.
3. Remain current on instructional best practices to support a variety of learning styles and utilize academic instructional technologies to improve student success across all program delivery modalities.
4. Outreach and collaborate with regional businesses and high school partners to recruit students to the Digital Marketing program. Assist in job placement opportunities for graduates.
5. Create a classroom environment that is respectful of diversity and demonstrates a commitment to multiculturalism.
6. Maintain accurate student records and reports as requested by administrative offices.
7. Identify students needing assistance and refer students to Student Services. Collaborate with Student Services and the Learning Resources staff members to help students adjust to the learning environment.
8. Prepare and update course syllabi (using BTC guidelines) for each course taught, and work cooperatively with members of other departments and programs in coordinating courses.
9. Work cooperatively with library staff in the selection of reference materials and coordination of library reference work for maximum utilization of library and other resources.
10. Participate in staff development activities and serve on college improvement teams and college wide committees as appropriate.
11. Convene Digital Marketing Program Advisory Committee meetings. Pariticipate in department and collegewide faculty meetings.
12. Assist in the enforcement of college regulations and report student conduct violations to administration.
13. Cultivate a personal interest in communities served by the college and participate when possible with community activities.
14. Hold weekly office hours and complete other duties as assigned by the Administrative Chair to meet student, employer, and college needs.
15. Meet Wisconsin Technical College System professional development requirements through the Faculty Quality Assurance System.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, or related field.
2. Two (2) years or 4,000 hours of marketing experience which includes social media, digital graphics, and/or e-marketing experience.
1. At least 1 year (2,000 hours) of experience must be within the past 5 years.
2. One year (2,000 hours) of related occupational experience may be waived if the occupational instructor has at least 2 years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate field within 5 years prior to the date of appointment. 

Desired Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree in marketing or related field. 
2. Previous post-secondary teaching experience, including classroom and/or on-line instruction.
3. Experience with graphic design software.
